Fitzroy

The alterations and additions project for a heritage house located in the vibrant suburb of Fitzroy involved significant and thoughtful changes to the existing structure, all while diligently preserving its historical character and overall integrity. This comprehensive project included the careful construction of a small addition at the rear of the house, along with extensive renovations to the beloved existing dwelling.

The newly designed addition not only complements the existing architecture but also blends seamlessly with the heritage features of the house, enhancing its overall appeal. The renovations encompassed the transformation of the existing bedrooms and included the addition of a new bathroom, kitchen, and dining spaces, as well as a spacious living area that connects beautifully to the outdoor terrace.

The primary goal of these carefully considered alterations and additions was to create a more open and functional floor plan, which facilitates modern living while still honoring and preserving the historical character of the house. In addition to the structural changes, the project also involved the meticulous restoration of the original features, such as stunning floorboards, ornate fireplaces, and intricate mouldings. The overarching aim was to retain as much of the original character and enduring charm of the house as possible, ensuring it remains a treasured piece of history for years to come.
